Jared Diamond is a man of geography or in other
words a scientist, an author, and is currently a professor at the University of
California. This is one of the reasons I believe Mr. Schick is having us
research him and his achievements. One of his most important books that he has
written about geography is called Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or
Succeed and another book he wrote which is was very important to his career
was Guns, Germs, and Steel. He is an important man in my opinion just
because of his vast understanding and knowledge of many things going on in the world.
He has over nine degrees including: Physiology, Biophysics, Ornithology,
Environmentalism, History, Ecology, Geography, Evolutionary Biology, and
Anthropology. And he also has a Phd. in both Geography and Philosophy. It is
clear with so much knowledge and experience on things, since he was born on
September 10, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts. As he grew up he was privileged enough
and smart enough to attend Harvard for college. He has gone many places through
his life as well including Papau, New Guinea to study culture and animals.
